Introducing…

“We have made the very difficult decision to eliminate your position” was the unexpected and anticlimactic end to my 25 year career in Cyber Security. For the first time in my working life, someone had fired me. As if rubbing salt in the wound, it was on Valentine’s Day. Seriously, who does that?

Losing my job was the catalyst for walking a fresh path and the birth of, Nature is my Jam. The goal of Nature is my Jam is to explore the world of field recording and the art of capturing pristine audio in remote places to create natural soundscapes.

While I worked as a cyber security professional for most of my adult life, my passion has always been photography. I worked as a wedding and portrait photographer part time in the mid-2000’s. More recently, I started recording nature sounds to help me sleep while I traveled for work. I look forward to sharing a weekly podcast featuring natural soundscapes for your listening enjoyment. I will also share my wildlife and landscape photography and essays devoted to environmental issues.
